5th Annual Human Rights Conference 2019 was organized on Saturday, 28 September at Capital’s Agricultural Extension Department(Farm-Gate) at A.K.M. Giasuddin Milky Auditorium, for Youth Human Rights Activists and Students.
“Youth for Human Rights” was the Theme of the programme.
The Chief Guest was Asa University’s Vice Chancellor Professor, Dr. Dalim Chandra Bormon. It was presided by HRSS’s Chairman Barrister Shahjada Al Amin Kabir.
Others presented were Human Rights Activists and HRSS’s Adviser Nur Khan Liton, Assistant Director of Dainik Samakal Abu Sayeed Khan, Dhaka University’s Law Department’s Professor Sheikh Hafizur Rahman and more. At the Conference, Speakers spoke about HRSS Report 2018.
Among the Speaker’s Abu Sayeed Khan told about his concern about liberty of press and told the youths to come forward to protect Human Rights and Democracy.
Human Rights Activist Nur Khan urged to protect Human Rights. He also argued a Judicial Investigation Committee need to be formed.
Lecture on “Gender in Equality and Violation of Human Rights” was given by Dr. Shamsun Nahar Khanam, Professor, Dept. of Govt. and Politics, Jahangirnagar University. She emphasized on Gender-In-Equality in Economic Life, Gender In-Equality and Psychological life, Gender In-Equality and Political life.
Barrister Shahjada Al Amin Kabir, Chairman, HRSS, Thanked to those who worked on the programme . He urged youths to become true fact finders and participate of human rights protecting. He also told that until there is good governance, we cannot ensure Human Rights.
On the event unwrapping of Annual Bulletin 2018 took place.
